7. PUBLIC OFFICE, WORSHIP STREET.
It has not been usual at this office to record the age or the trade or business to which the apprentices are bound by the consent of the Magistrates; but from our recollection, and that of the clerks, we think that not more than three apprentices have been bound in each year to chimney sweepers under the 28 Geo. 3, c.48, during nearly the last six years. The evidence of the age of the boy has generally been proved by the parent, or some person who was present at the birth.
