Another valuable source of information I N D U S T R I A L/REFORMATORY S C H O O L S
This site contains information, on INDUSTRIAL/REFORMATORY SCHOOLS & the like in England and Wales during the 19th and early 20th century, I am currently working on producing a list for Scotland.
I have prepared list's of children and the teaching staff at several schools, my information is from various sources, including the united kingdom census returns, juvenile court registers, Pentonville remand centre admissions register, county council registers and various individual SCHOOLS admissions and discharge registers. When transcribing I do take extreme care, proof reading my work at least twice, but mistakes will happen. I would urge anyone who visits the site and finds a name which could be a missing ancestor to check the original source themselves, where possible I always give a reference number and the location of the source.
I have included a "WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION PAGE" for a guide to anyone trying to trace the records for their missing ancestor.
If you are really really stuck, Check out the Where to find information page, and my email address is at the bottom of the page.
ALL THE CENSUS INFORMATION ON THIS WEBSITE IS COURTESY OF THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES
UPDATED Friday 22nd January, 2010 - The new index search at the top of the page only updates the index every couple of weeks, anything I add in between that time I will mark as 'new' on the contents table.
