Vessel was launched in 1818, a 50 gun frigate of the same name. There was also an Auxiliary ship 'RIPPLE', a three-masted schooner of 97 tons, which was certified 26th July 1878.
1868 - Captain Elliott was in the first instance chosen as superintendent, on his resignation, Captain Pollard was appointed.
1869 - Superintendent Captain Pollard; schoolmaster Mr Bushby.
1872 - Superintendent Captain W.I. Pollard; schoolmaster Mr Bushby; assistant schoolmaster Mr Burrell.
1884 - Superintendent, Captain Broad, R.N.; chief officer, Mr Hobbs; schoolmaster Mr Bushby; assistant schoolmaster Mr Waddington.
1891 - Superintendent, Rear-Admiral Broad; chief officer, Mr Hobbs; schoolmasters, Mr Bushby and Mr Waddington.
1893 - Superintendent, Admiral Broad; chief officer, Mr Hobbs; schoolmasters, Mr Bushby and Mr Waddington.
1900 - Captain Superintendent, Rear-Admiral G.D. Broad; chief officer, Mr A. Willey; schoolmaster, Mr. H. Bushby and assistant schoolmaster, Mr. A. Waddington; Mr Thos. H. Mitchell was appointed 1st November 1899 to succeed Mr Henry Colley who resigned 25th September 1899.
1903 - Captain Superintendent Commander F.S. Wheeler, R.N.; chief officer Mr. H. Bennett; schoolmaster, Mr H. Bushby; assistant schoolmaster Mr A. Waddington; Mr T.H. Mitchell, 2nd assistant schoolmaster left 31st October 1902 and was succeeded by Mr. R. Wilson.
